WHAT IS DOCTOR WHO REDUX?

'DOCTOR WHO - REDUX' is a non-profit passion project currently in development by a team of talented writers and fans of Doctor Who. With a vision to create a brand new era of Doctor Who via the means of Scripts, Fit for TV.

The project was originally started by Craig Black in April 2024 as an independent project, but since then he has gathered interest and pulled together fellow passionate fans and writers now involved to create a truly unique set of stories.

IS THE PROJECT CONSIDERED OFFICIAL?

No. Doctor Who Redux is in no way endorsed or supported by the BBC, BAD WOLF or DISNEY. This project is purely our take on the hit Television series and is being written out of the love and devotion to the show that the team hold.

We are not expecting or aiming to profit from this project in any way and actively encourage those that enjoy our work to support the official Series and Franchise.

WHEN DOES THE STORY TAKE PLACE?

Many of the story details are being kept secret for now, however the stories will be told in a standalone era of the show aiming to avoid any ongoing major plot points in the official series.

We personally believe the project to be a perfect jumping on point, serving as both a reboot/continuation of the show.

WHICH DOCTOR WILL BE PILOTING THE TARDIS IN REDUX?

THE DOCTOR themselves will be an entirely new incarnation of our creation, in addition the companion(s) will also be our original creations.

Due to the ever evolving nature of the official show, our version of THE DOCTOR will have no specific "numbering" either.

WILL THERE BE ANY RETURNING CHARACTERS?

Our aim is to embrace originality of Doctor Who whilst also embracing what makes the show special, that means our episodes may include familiar faces whilst also making way for fresh, new and exciting stories.

HOW MANY EPISODES/SERIES WILL BE RELEASED?

Currently we plan to release 3 Seasons, each featuring 8 episodes and an additional 2 festive specials. That's a total of 26 Scripts!

HOW WILL THE EPISODES BE RELEASED?

The exact form of release is still yet to be decided, as it stands the plan will be to release the scripts in full for everyone to enjoy at their own leisure - with the releases taking place over the course of several weeks and months, to give that true Doctor Who feeling.

We have dabbled however in the ideas of voice recordings, read throughs and more. But ultimately only time will tell.

I CAN'T WAIT! WHEN WILL THE PROJECT BE RELEASED?

We can't wait either! But creativity cannot be rushed and the team care deeply about delivering powerful, emotional and truly enjoyable content. The team also balance their own jobs, private lives and more! And though the project has been in development for over a year already, there is still a lot of work to be done to ensure the scripts live up to the high quality standards that we consider "Fit for TV".

Currently our aim is to begin release in 2026, with each episode script releasing independently over a set course of time.
